Nusa Dua, March 5, 2025 – Bali Tourism Polytechnic (BiTP) welcomed a team of students and lecturers from University College Sedaya International (UCSI) during the UCSI Malaysia Student Mobility program. This five-day event carried the theme ‘Nurturing Diversity, Promoting Sustainability.’

As a state tourism campus under the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenpar RI), BiTP plays a role in applying sustainability principles in the tourism industry through education. With a similar direction, UCSI Malaysia collaborates with BiTP to conduct the student mobility program held in Bali. The event, which took place from March 4 to 8, 2025, was officially opened on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Bali Tourism Polytechnic.

During the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Ida Anak Ingko, an assistant professor from UCSI, and the Director of BiTP, Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes, along with his team, were present. In his speech, Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Puja emphasized the goal of this student mobility, which is to provide a platform for exploring Bali’s cultural heritage and the tourism industry, as well as exchanging insights on Malaysian culture. “I am confident that this experience will not only broaden perspectives but also contribute to strengthening the ties between the two countries,” added Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Puja.

Over the course of five days, the participants, consisting of five UCSI students, were engaged in various interesting activities, including a tourism seminar at BiTP, observation and research at the White Wood Tree and Jatiluwih UNESCO Heritage site, a Balinese cooking experience at Rumah Desa Tabanan, watching Balinese culture through the Kecak dance in Uluwatu, and learning about the rafting industry trends in Ubud. Bali Tourism Polytechnic students from the Travel Business (UPW) and Convention and Event Management (PKA) programs also played an active role in accompanying the UCSI Malaysia students, sharing knowledge and experiences, and introducing tourist destinations in Bali.

Through the theme of sustainable tourism, this collaboration emphasizes shared responsibility in protecting and preserving our planet for future generations. Through this partnership with UCSI University, BiTP hopes to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and perspectives to become future leaders who can make an impact on the world.
