Nusa Dua, 16 June 2025 – The spirit of youth empowerment continues to be championed by Tokopedia and TikTok Shop through an inspiring collaboration with Bali Tourism Polytechnic (Poltekpar Bali) and the Indonesia Coffee Academy. As part of the Creators Lab and Barista Training programs, this initiative was successfully held on 16 June 2025 at the Poltekpar Bali campus and received an enthusiastic response from participants.
This program was initiated to enhance the capabilities of the younger generation, particularly Poltekpar Bali students, in two strategic areas: digital content creation and barista skills. The training not only focused on coffee brewing techniques, flavor profiling, manual brewing methods, and latte art, but also equipped participants with knowledge in personal branding, video scriptwriting, and effective content strategies for social media, particularly TikTok.
Vonny Ernita Susamto, Director of Tokopedia and TikTok E-Commerce, stated that the coffee industry has become a promising sector capable of opening up opportunities within the creative economy at the regional level. She noted that the growth in domestic coffee consumption presents a significant opportunity for MSMEs and young talent to thrive in this industry.
The event was also attended by Dr. Andar Danova L. Goeltom from the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, who emphasized the importance of synergy between academia, industry, and government in developing highly competent and adaptive human resources amidst rapid digital transformation. In his remarks, Dr. Drs. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes, Director of Bali Tourism Polytechnic, stated that the program marks a significant moment for all participants to strengthen their competencies in both digital content creation and barista skills.
“We believe that collaborations like this will enhance the competitiveness of Poltekpar Bali graduates not only in tourism but also in the growing digital and creative industries,” he said.
The majority of participants, who were Poltekpar Bali students, showed great enthusiasm throughout the training sessions, both in theory and practice. Through this program, they not only gained valuable knowledge but also expanded their networks and explored entrepreneurial opportunities in the coffee and digital marketing sectors.
This initiative reaffirms Poltekpar Bali’s role as a vocational institution that is not only responsive to industry needs but also proactive in creating new opportunities for its students. Guided by the spirit of Manganjali Karya Werdhi, the program is expected to serve as a launching point for Bali’s younger generation to continue innovating and become agents of change amid the increasingly competitive tourism industry landscape.
