Nusa Dua, March 12, 2025 – The Joint Admission Selection or Seleksi Bersama Masuk (SBM) for the Polytechnic of Tourism has been officially opened simultaneously across Indonesia. The opening of the SBM Poltekpar was directly inaugurated by the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Widiyanti Wardana (12/3). SBM Poltekpar is the new student admission pathway organized directly by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, overseeing six Polytechnic of Tourism institutions, namely Poltekpar Medan, Poltekpar Palembang, Poltekpar NHI Bandung, Poltekpar Lombok, Poltekpar Makassar, and Poltekpar Bali.
The opening of SBM Poltekpar provides an opportunity for all prospective individuals in the tourism and hospitality sector to continue their education and pursue careers in the tourism and hospitality industries. Specifically, the Minister of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia, Widiyanti Wardana, mentioned that the Polytechnics of Tourism under the Ministry of Tourism are state educational institutions aimed at producing an excellent generation to advance Indonesia’s tourism industry. The opening of SBM Poltekpar was also attended by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Ni Luh Puspa, Mr. Berry Juliandi from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Mr. Hadi Sutrisno, Chairman of the Indonesian Tourism Vocational School Association, and Mr. Eduard Rudolf, Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Tourism’s Advisory Board.
As one of the state universities under the Ministry of Tourism, Poltekpar optimistically welcomes new prospective students. During the launch of SBM Poltekpar online, the Director of Poltekpar Bali, Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Puja, M.Kes, expressed Poltekpar Bali’s readiness to succeed in the SBM Poltekpar. “We have formed a new student admission committee to serve prospective students regarding SBM Poltekpar. We hope that through this SBM Poltekpar, we can get quality and potential students in the field of hospitality and tourism,” said Dr. Ida Bagus Puja. SBM Poltekpar is officially open from March 12, 2025, until May 17, 2025, online.
Prospective Poltekpar students can register on the website www.sbmpoltekpar.kemenpar.go.id. The Assistant Deputy for Human Resources Capacity Building and Vocational Education of the Ministry of Tourism, Dr. Andar Danova L. Goletom, S.Sos., M.Sc, mentioned that SBM Poltekpar adheres to the principles of transparency, objectivity, and accountability. “We raise the theme of Quality Vocational Education to Produce Superior and Internationally Competitive Human Resources in Tourism,” added Mr. Andar. In addition to SBM Poltekpar, Poltekpar will also run another PMB scheme, the Independent Selection (SMM), which will be held after SBM Poltekpar. The SBM Poltekpar pathway will have a 60% quota, while the remaining 40% will be through the SMM Poltekpar pathway.
Through SBM Poltekpar, prospective students can apply to all Polytechnic of Tourism institutions under the Ministry of Tourism on one platform. This convenience provides easier opportunities for prospective students, both from within and outside the country, to realize their dreams of becoming outstanding professionals in the tourism and hospitality industries. Poltekpar Bali offers eight study programs in SBM Poltekpar, including Applied Bachelor’s Degrees (Hotel Management, Convention and Event Management, Hospitality Accounting Management, Tourism Destination, and Travel Business) as well as Diploma 3 programs (Food and Beverage Service, Culinary Arts, and Room Division). After the registration process, prospective students will undergo a selection that includes Scholastic Tests, English Literacy Tests, and interviews.
